PRESS RELEASE
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The State Level National Talent Search Examination for the Academic Year 2013-2014 will be held on 17th November 2013 for all the students currently studying in Std .X in any recognized school located in the State.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:
The amount of scholarship will be Rs.500/ (Rupees Five
Hundred
only) per month.
RESERVATION:
The State reservation policy will be adopted including 3% of physically challenged group of students.
ELIGIBILITY:
Students studying in Class X during 2013-2014 in any recognized school are eligible to appear for the examination. NTS awardees of class VIII are not required to appear in Class X Examination. However the unsuccessful candidates of Class VIII can now appear for Class X examination. The NMMS awardees are allowed to appear for NTS Examination.

**The Question Pattern for SAT will be based on the syllabus for Class IX and X prescribed by the STATE, CBSE and ICSE Examination Boards.
For
SAT paper the number of question allocated for each subject will be as follows:

CHEMISTRY-11
BIOLOGY-12
MATHEMATICS-20
HISTORY-10
GEOGRAPHY-10
POLITICAL SCIENCE-10
AND ECONOMICS-5.
Total = 90 questions
For SAT paper the number of question allocated for each subject will be as follows:
ANSWER SHEET:
O M R Answer Sheet will be provided to the students.
Students should mark the answers in BLUE OR BLACK ball point pen only
As per the quota allotted for the State by the NCERT,
256 candidates will be selected in the State Level NTS Examination.
FEES:
Rs.50/ (Rupees Fifty only) in cash
per candidate
HOW TO APPLY:
1. Candidates are required to apply for State Level NTS Examination through their school only. The Headmaster/Head of Institution can download
sufficient number of blank
application forms from 04.09.2013 to 05.10.2013 through the web site www.tndge.in
2. The blank
application forms should be distributed to the X std. students who are studying in the current academic year.
3. With the help of parent, the students should fill up
the application forms and return
the filled in application
forms
to the Headmaster / Head of Institution concerned, along with
Photo affixed
and cash
of
Rs.50/ (Fifty Only).
COLLECTION OF APPLICATION FORMS:
1. The Head of Institutions should collect
the
filled in application forms till
16.09.2013 from the students.
2. The Head of Institutions should submit the particulars in the application forms through ON LINE in the Web Site www.tndge.in from 16.09.2013
to 05.10.2013 only. The Photo can be either scanned or uploaded through
webcam.
SUBMITION OF APPLICATION FORMS AT D E O OFFICE:
After completion of ON LINE submission of particulars in the applications, the
Headmaster / The Head of Institution should submit the application
forms
received from the
students in ONE LOT along with the TOTAL FEES IN CASH collected from the
students to the respective DISTRICT EDUCATIONAL
OFFICERS on or before
05.10.2013 BEFORE 5.30 PM.
Submission of late application after the last Date will be summarily rejected.

NTSE Exam 2013-2014
With the (National Talent Search Examination) NTSE Exam 2014 Notification, NCERT has notified the exam date, the last date of submission of applications and various stages of the examination and other details for the students of Class 10.
NTSE Exam Scholarships 2014
Total 1000 scholarships would be awarded to students
studying in Class 10. Students studying in recognised schools are
eligible to appear for National Talent Search Examination NTSE Exam 2014. According to wikipedia, close to 1,50,000 students appear for the NTSE scholarship. So one imagine, the competitive level of the examination and the preparation that is requires.

NTSE Exam 2014 Selection Process
The selection process for awarding scholarship through
NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) Class 10 would be held in 2
stages.In Stage I, States/Union Territories (UT) will conduct a written examination.
In Stage II, those who qualify in Stage I will again sat for national level exam conducted by NCERT.
Please note: there is quota for every States/ UT in Stage I for the number of students, but there is no quota in Stage II.

- Last Date for Submission of Application Form : 04 / 09 / 2013
- Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands : 17 November 2014
- Examination in All other States and Union Territories : 17 November 2013
- Examination in All States and Union Territories : 09 May 2014 (Sunday)
